Content Blocks in TYPO3 v12

Sadly, our patch to bring the Content Blocks into TYPO3 was not merged into v12. The reason being that we were impacted by architectural changes made in the Core, in preparation for v13. We didn’t want to bring in yet another area which would soon become deprecated, and thus, decided to rebuild our approach to match the new architecture. Understandably, this took a lot of time, which meant we lacked time for a detailed review in the end. As stated shortly before the v12 LTS release at the TYPO3 Camp Mitteldeutschland: “Our main goal is to make it right—not quick and dirty.”

Therefore, we jumped right into re-introducing our patch for v13 after the LTS release of v12. The reason why there isn’t yet a Content Blocks release for TER for v12 is that the Core patch needs to be merged first. Until then, there could be breaking changes, we'd have to backport to the TER release, and that might cause inconvenience among our users.
